From Samba to Metal: The Story Behind the Towers

In fiction, you will find Alex, frontman for the legendary band Ashen Towers. An artist at his peak who, exhausted by repetition, discovers that true inspiration isn’t found in arena anthems, but in simple places like his own dinner table.

In reality, you find me. Unlike Alex, my musical journey didn’t start with heavy riffs, but with the pulsating beat of samba, where I met my wife. She is the real metalhead, from Iron Maiden to AC/DC. I was the tambourine guy who, out of love, found himself amidst a sea of distorted guitars.

Ashen Towers was born from my desire to build a bridge. A way to connect even more with my wife’s universe and to bring our children into a passion that defines our home: music.

Our home is a small studio. From the piano to the electronic drum kit, from the bass to the “cavaquinho”. Music is our language. Ashen Towers is a reflection of this. It’s a project forged in family, where fiction mirrors reality. The indignation of young Davi and the logic of Leo in the comic are echoes of the conversations we have at home. The ideas aren’t just mine; they are ours. It’s the story of a father diving into his children’s world, and of children helping to build a new one.

From this fusion of samba and metal, of parents and children, of reality and fiction, the first song was born: ‘Mammon’s Embrace’. A song that doesn’t speak of dragons, but confronts the real monster of greed. A social critique with the weight and soul of Heavy Metal. This is more than the first song of a fictional band. It’s proof that the best melody is the one that unites us.
